DeeVine is a three-time award nominee versatile Artist born in London and raised in Barbados from the age of six. In April 2011, she came onto the UK Soca scene with her powerful Caribbean vocals. DeeVine has been singing and dancing from the age of 8 when her father bought her a keyboard, from then she started writing songs. She sang Soprano in the school choir at Parkinson Secondary School in Barbados, where she attended until the age of 17. During her secondary school years she formed a dance group, performing at school concerts and local shows. At age 17 she became a member of a Soca Band called Hide & Seek for a short period of time before returning to London where she continued her studies in Music Technology & Business Management in Music. In later years she trained as a Registered Children’s Nurse. DeeVine’s interest for Soca came from Calypso legends like Mighty Gabby, Red Plastic Bag and Alison Hinds. Later on, DeeVine went on to write songs with Mighty Gabby which she has released.
DeeVine has to date performed in Barbados, USA, Canada, Rotterdam, Barcelona, France, New York City, Miami and of course Notting Hill Carnival. In 2016 DeeVine took part in Leeds Soca Monarch competition and was placed 3rd, in 2016 she was also nominated for best New Dancehall Artist. She has collaborated on tracks with Spice, Gage and Problem Child. She has performed on many international stages alongside Artists like Destra, Mr Killa, Lil Rick and Skinny Fabulous. DeeVine being a versatile Artist, you will in the future be sure to find her on many stages performing some of her songs in other genres.
